Taiwan plans to hold a 100MW auction for pilot floating wind arrays in deeper waters, the island’s ministry of economic affairs (MOEA) said as it flagged small-scale projects that are already dwarfed by massive developments envisaged by global players.

The government currently is seeking opinions from stakeholders about a draft of the floating demonstrator project, and will announce a final details at the end of this year, MOEA energy technology division director Chen Chung-Hsien told Recharge.
