Munich utility Stadwerke München (SWM) has signed a joint-venture deal with Norwegian regional utility TrønderEnergi that will significantly boost its onshore wind portfolio.

SWM will dominate the JV with a 70% share.

The two utilities will jointly operate four wind farms (Bessakerfjellet, Skomakerfjellet, Valsneset, Ytre Vikna) in the central Norwegian region of Trøndelag that have a combined capacity of 120MW.

The will also jointly build and operate four further arrays by 2021 (Frøya, Stokkfjellet, Sørmarkfjellet, Hundhammerfjellet) with a combined capacity of 330MW.
