The follow-up order – alongside Tanti’s comments indicating the firm will accelerate its push into China – cheered investors in loss-making Suzlon, which struggled to win sales in developed markets last quarter.
Suzlon will sell 24 of its S88 units to “one of China’s five largest power producers”.
The turbines, rated at 2.1MW each, will be delivered by to their final destination in Inner Mongolia by the end of the year, lifting Suzlon’s installed capacity in the Chinese market to more than 1.1GW.
