China’s massive wind power ramp-up propelled global wind turbine orders to record levels of 43GW in the second quarter of the year – more than a third higher than the same three months in 2021 and representing $18.1bn in deals, according to research group Wood Mackenzie.

Chinese orders were 35GW of the total in Q2 with domestic OEM giants Goldwind, Mingyang and Envision “all very active” and accounting for more than 26GW between them, said Wood Mackenzie, which added that the global market could be on course for a best ever year.
