The transaction involves 2.5GW of operational and under-construction Brazilian wind assets, which will be included in SunEdison's yieldco, TerraForm Global.

Renova's board has approved the deal announced in May, and both companies now await the outcome of TerraForm Global's initial public offering (IPO) and the green light from regulatory bodies.

SunEdison acquired 21% of common stock in Renova previously owned by Brazilian power company Light.
