A record high demand helped drive the order intake at wind turbine manufacturer Nordex to 3.3GW in the fourth quarter, up from 2.3GW in the year-earlier period, possibly pushing Nordex orders in that quarter beyond those of larger rival Vestas.

Vestas had announced just over 2GW in the fourth quarter of 2021, but analyst Jacob Pedersen from Sydbank reckons the Danish company had about another gigawatt in unannounced orders in the period. That would still leave Vestas orders at 3GW, and thus below those of its German rival Nordex.
