Output at the Merkur offshore wind farm in German waters was halted after signs of “stress fatigue” were found on some of its turbines, said one of the project’s owners.

Routine inspection “identified signs of stress fatigue on certain areas of the support structure of the heli-hoist” of the machines, investment group TRIG, which owns 25% of the 396MW project, told its shareholders.
