The quintet of Hywind floating wind turbines in the frame for installation at developer Statoil’s 30MW Buchan Deep array are afloat in Stord, western Norway.
The five were assembled onshore and lifted onto their spar-buoy foundations by the heavy-lift vessel Saipem 7000.
Topped with 6MW-class Siemens Gamesa turbines, the units will be towed across the North Sea to a project site off Peterhead, Scotland, with switch-on slated for Q4.
