DONG will retain a 74.9% stake in the 367-megawatt (MW) Walney, which is being built 14km west of the Isle of Walney in the Irish Sea at an estimated cost of £1bn.
In addition to its £39m buy-in fee, of which slightly less than half is subject to the operational performance of the wind farm, SSE will also pay its pro-rata share of the construction costs.
