Duke Energy Renewables has sealed a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for 173.3MW of wind energy with Sprint, the number three wireless network operator in the US.
The agreement will enable construction of the planned 182MW Maryneal project in West Texas, which the developer aims to bring online in 2020. OEM Nordex will supply 38 of its 4.8MW wind turbines for the project.
