ScottishPower Renewables, a unit of Spanish energy giant Iberdrola, said as part of the agreement that Navantia will seek to work with the UK steel industry and UK suppliers.
The 7,700-tonnes substation will be built at Navantia’s Puerto Real fabrication yard at Cadiz in southern Spain. The yard recently delivered the giant 8,500-tonnes substation for the Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
