It developed the 48.4MW site — near the city of Hamada, in western Japan’s Shimane prefecture — with Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co.

Alstom supplied 29 or its 1.67MW turbines for the project, which was completed roughly on schedule.

SB Energy was not immediately available for comment.

About two years ago, it started developing a 100MW, fixed-bottom wind farm off the coast of eastern Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture, in cooperation with Komatsuzaki, which has already built 30MW of near-shore capacity at the port of Kamisu.
