Northeast England-based Smulders Projects has won a deal to assemble innovative suction-bucket foundations for Vattenfall’s European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) – the wind farm that Donald Trump failed to halt.

Smulders' Newcastle-upon-Tyne site will carry out fabrication of the lower part of the jackets and final assembly of the 11 foundations, which will be mated with 8MW MHI Vestas V164 turbines at the EOWDC in Aberdeen Bay, Scotland.
