Offshore wind is in an early phase in Spain and project expectations so far relatively small, Siemens Gamesa chief executive Andreas Nauen said as he played down the likelihood of an early boom in the sector there.
The company – the global market leader in offshore turbine manufacturing – is focusing its offshore wind activities on countries like the UK, the Netherlands and the US, Nauen told journalists in an online press conference after the OEM’s shareholder meeting, where he was quizzed on the prospects for an industrial base for wind at sea.
