Scotland’s seabed landlord aims in January next year to offer first option agreements for new offshore wind leases to successful bidders under its ScotWind round after “sky high” interest in the pioneering tender.

The Crown Estate Scotland revealed the planned timetable as it confirmed it booked 74 applications for the 15 seabed areas offered under ScotWind, which closed for entries last week after attracting a who’s who of global offshore wind players.
