The companies, which have partnered on wind turbine designs since 2005, will work on new designs for additional terrestrial and offshore turbine models.
The news comes on the heels of Sinovel’s $445m order from AMSC for more core electrical components for its 1.5 megawatt (MW) SL1500 wind turbines. AMSC is to commence shipments under the contract, which will pick up at the end of an existing agreement expiring in early 2011.
