The deal is rumoured to be worth €350m ($510m), and is for Siemens' 2.3MW turbines.

The Clyde project is being built in South Lankarshire, 70 km south of Glasgow. It will replace ScottishPower’s 322MW Whitelee project, also near Glasgow and commissioned this summer, as Europe’s largest onshore wind farm.

In addition to delivering and installing the turbines, Siemens will also be responsible for operations and maintenance for the first five years.
