The German group’s wind operation is currently run out of Brande in Denmark, where it also has a major production hub.
Siemens confirms to Recharge that the move of headquarters will happen, adding that it already has 170 wind-power staff working in Hamburg.
But it says no further details will be given until a formal announcement at the end of September.
Earlier this month Siemens unveiled a major shake-up of its renewable energy operations, the highlight of which was the splitting-off of its wind-power operations into a dedicated division, separating them from its solar, hydro and marine-energy operations.
