Siemens Gamesa has confirmed a 3.6GW preferred supplier turbine deal from Vattenfall for the utility’s twin Norfolk offshore wind projects, as it launched an upgrade to its largest turbine with a super-sized rotor diameter of 236 metres to go with it.
The OEM already had revealed the giant order on Friday evening when presenting full-year company results (Siemens Gamesa’s fiscal year ends in September) as Recharge reported, but the news was somewhat eclipsed by the company posting its second annual net loss in a row.
