Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) will supply three onshore wind farms in Norway, projects which will power data centres for tech giant Facebook.

Under the deal, with an undisclosed value, SGRE is will supply 4.2MW SWT-DD-130 turbines to three projects located in the Bjerkreim and Ha municipalities, around 50km south-east of Stavanger.

The installation of the 76MW Skinansfjellet project, the 63MW Gravdal wind farm and the 155MW Eikeland-Steinsland project – a combined rating of 294MW and collectively known as the Bjerkreim cluster – will start in spring 2019 with completion planned for autumn 2019.
