Siemens Gamesa grabbed the top spot from Vestas as the top turbine manufacturer last year with 9.52GW of onshore and offshore wind turbines commissioned, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
Vestas remained the top onshore turbine manufacturer, deploying 7.7GW of its turbines in 2017, for a 16% share of the global market, said BNEF. However, the figures don’t include offshore equipment from Vestas' joint venture with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, MHI Vestas.
