Siemens Gamesa secures 318MW of US orders at 80% PTC
The flurry of onshore orders, coming from unnamed customers, adds to the list of US projects that locked in at the reduced PTC in late 2017
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has announced seven US onshore wind turbine orders totaling 318MW that were booked during 2017, making the projects eligible for 80% of the production tax credit (PTC).
None of the customers nor the specific projects were disclosed, but Siemens Gamesa says the turbines will be installed at both new wind projects and existing projects that are being repowered. The orders comprise a variety of turbine models and components.
A company spokesperson confirmed to Recharge that the orders had not previously been disclosed. The projects range in size from 29MW to 76MW.
