Siemens Gamesa is gearing up its US operation to minimise the potential impact of trade tariffs on its business next financial year, said CEO Markus Tacke, as the wind OEM cited the issue as one of the geopolitical risks now facing the industry.

Tacke told financial analysts that the tariff issue represents a “dynamic development” with the details of implementation not yet fully clear.

The Trump administration’s trade policy has in recent months put tariffs on key materials, notably steel, centre stage as a concern for the wind sector in the US.
