Siemens Gamesa has appointed Jorge Magalhães as the new head of technology at its Onshore business unit.
The German-Spanish wind turbine manufacturer said the Portuguese-Canadian is to strive for innovation to continue lowering the cost of energy with high quality solutions.
Magalhães has more than 30 years experience in companies such as Philips, Motorola, Emerson Electric and was senior vice president for R&D at rival OEM Vestas, where he headed a small team looking into hybrid, storage and system integration solutions.
