Clearway Energy has awarded a 419MW turbine order to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) for its Mesquite Star project, the second largest in Texas, giving the OEM a much-needed boost in the nation’s fastest growing wind power market.
Clearway, a yieldco that claims 2.77GW of wind power capacity in operation, did not provide details of the 118-turbine contract which was part of an announcement that it had closed financing and begun construction on the project.
