Siemens Gamesa has commissioned a prototype of its 14MW offshore wind turbine at Denmark’s national wind power testing centre in Osterild.
The Spanish-German OEM had unveiled the long-awaited super-sized machine that can be digitally upgraded to 15MW only one and a half years ago, with plans to have it market-ready by 2024.
“Our SG 14-222 DD prototype is now producing power to the grid,” a company press official said on LinkedIn.
