Siemens Gamesa will supply 41 of its 4.3MW onshore turbines to Meridian Energy for the 176MW Harapaki wind farm, which will be New Zealand’s second largest once it is commissioned in 2023.
The order is strengthening the OEM’s leading position in the country’s wind energy market. Siemens Gamesa has already supplied 267MW to Meridian, including the turbines for West Wind, its largest operating wind farm with 142.6MW.
