Siemens Gamesa can turn around its onshore wind business new CEO Andreas Nauen has insisted, as he revealed he had recently reassured a “very senior Spanish politician” over the future of its loss-making land-based turbine operation.
Recent downsizing of onshore wind manufacturing in Denmark, Spain – and, as Nauen revealed on Thursday, possibly next in India – prompted questions over whether Siemens Gamesa may drop onshore turbines altogether, to concentrate on its successful offshore wind and service segments.
