Siemens Gamesa followed its rival Vestas in a commitment to make its turbines fully recyclable by 2040, and in the case of blades by the end of this decade.

As part of its ‘Sustainability Vision’, the turbine manufacturer now also advances its net-zero emission ambition by ten years to 2040, including emissions from its entire value chain.

“At the heart of everything we do is a deep desire to improve our world through the provision of clean energy that will help to decarbonise the energy supply and tackle the threat of climate change,” chief executive Andreas Nauen said.
