As he laid out the reasons for what will be yet another year of struggle for its onshore wind business, Siemens Gamesa CEO Andreas Nauen faced the inevitable question from financial analysts – why not just get rid of it?
Nauen insisted that turning around its onshore operation remains the achievable objective for the Spanish-German turbine OEM, despite “from time to time looking at alternatives” such as splitting it off from the still-solid offshore and service operations, as one analyst suggested would be the best course.
