Orsted-Eversource has sealed a firm order with Siemens Gamesa that will see the German-Spanish OEM supply its giant 11MW offshore turbine for two projects in the US north-east with a combined capacity of almost 850MW, its first sale of the SG11.0-200DD in the accelerating Atlantic play.
The deal - for a unit nameplated 3MW larger than when the OEM was awarded the ‘conditional order’ in July 2019 for SG8.0-167s
