Siemens Gamesa and marine and subsea provider Acteon have reached an agreement to jointly provide operations and maintenance (O&M) for the 12MW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) pilot, the first offshore wind project to be installed in US federal waters.

Bundling the above-water and subsea balance of plant services with the wind turbine service results is expected to result in a reduction in turbine downtime for planned maintenance activities and a lower cost of energy for the project, being developed by Dominion and Orsted, the companies said.
