The 7MW direct-drive model – erected next to the 6MW version upscaled by the OEM to the higher capacity earlier this year – is calculated capable of generating almost 10% more annual energy production than its forerunner, courtesy of a faster-revolving rotor, stronger magnets in its permanent magnet generator (PMG) and a beefed up converter and transformer.
