Low installations in some parts of the world coupled with the indirect effects of Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine depressed first-half 2022 figures at wind turbine manufacturer Nordex.

Sales dropped by 21.2% year-on-year to €2.13bn ($2.18bn), mainly due to sluggish installation figures outside Europe and Latin America.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) turned into a loss of €173.3m, compared to a positive Ebitda of €68.4m during the first half of 2021, as the indirect effects of the pandemic and the war triggered an upheaval in energy, raw material and logistics markets.
