Japan’s Shizen Energy is seeking a staggering 18GW in environmental permits for offshore wind projects in Brazil, the most recent list of proposals handed in to the country’s environmental protection agency Ibama showed.

The very early stage developments are spread across two 3GW projects off the north-eastern state of Ceará, and four 3GW projects off the southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul, the document seen by Recharge revealed.
