Netherlands-based Heerema Marine Contractors has teamed up with Japanese engineering and contracting group Shimizu as the latter adds to its global roster of partnerships ahead of large-scale offshore wind installation off Japan.
The cooperation agreement is mainly focused on installing turbine foundations, with Heerema planning to support Shimizu with engineering and offshore construction expertise.
The cooperation deal follows up on a similar agreement closed in June between Shimizu and Norway’s Fred Olsen Ocean for offshore wind installation projects in Japanese waters.
