Oil and gas giant Shell will act “with conviction” to pursue opportunities in the offshore wind market as part of a corporate learning curve amid an “unstoppable energy transition”, said CEO Ben van Beurden.

The Shell boss confirmed that the company’s recent high-profile forays into offshore wind will be followed up, especially if there are opportunities to link projects with the wider energy value chain.

The oil major put down a big marker in the sector in December when its consortium won the 680MW Borssele 3&4 offshore zone in the Netherlands.
