China’s eastern coastal province Shandong has set out increased targets to install almost 20GW of offshore wind by 2035 and propel it from a standing start to the nation’s second-largest region for wind at sea, Recharge understands.

With not a single turbine installed so far, the peninsular province plans in 16 years to establish three offshore wind complexes encompassing 41 projects in the Yellow Sea, according to a revised development plan.
