Vattenfall is angling to install a first batch of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) 10MW turbines at its Hollandse Kust South 1&2 project in the Dutch North Sea – in line to be the world’s first zero-subsidy offshore wind farm – following the signing of a preferred supplier agreement with the German-Spanish OEM.
The Swedish utility foresees erecting 76 of the new SG 10.0-193 DDs at the giant 760MW project, which is slated to be brought online in 2023, with longer-term plans to install another 76 at the 760MW Hollandse Kust South 3&4 development if it wins the tender for that wind zone, expected to be announced next month.
