The project by Norsk Vind Egersund has been acquired by renewables asset manager Luxcara. First turbine installations are scheduled for the second quarter of next year, with commissioning expected during that quarter and in the third quarter of 2017.

"The contract for Egersund wind farm is a milestone which reflects the clear global growth strategy of Senvion and its potential to enter new markets with innovative and optimally adapted products,” says Senvion chief executive Jürgen Geissinger.

Senvion with the order is joining a current boom in Norwegian onshore wind installations that thanks to very strong coastal winds and large volumes has pushed down wind energy production prices in the Nordic country.
