Plans for 1.1GW of wind turbines off Western Australia have been unveiled in the nation's second proposal for large-scale offshore project.

Australian oil & gas company Pilot Energy said it will study the potential for offshore wind development in its existing WA-481-P exploration permit, eyeing a project built around 78 14MW turbines, and combining it with an onshore solar farm to deliver a hybrid wind and PV footprint.
