ScottishPower has followed up its move away from fossil-fuel generation with plans to spend up to £2.4bn ($3.2bn) through to 2022 on renewable energy projects in the UK, including 1GW of onshore wind and expansion of its giant East Anglia offshore wind mega-project.
The Iberdrola-owned UK utility says it will invest a total of £6bn in the UK over the 2018-22 period, including £2bn in 2019 — its largest-ever investment in the country in a single year.
