Scotland’s forthcoming ScotWind offshore wind leasing round has been delayed for a second time until after Marine Scotland’s draft Sectoral Marine Plan (SMP) is published in the autumn.

Details of the round were originally scheduled to be released by Crown Estate Scotland in October, but will now wait for the marine body to report its own proposals for the country's waters.

“The SMP will provide developers with certainty regarding the best locations for projects, so there are clear benefits in launching leasing after they have seen the draft version,” said John Robertson, head of energy and infrastructure at Crown Estate Scotland.
