Scotland entered the offshore wind big-time as the last of the turbines for its largest project so far – the 950MW Moray East – hit the water.

The one hundredth Vestas V164-9.5MW machine was installed by Fred Olsen Windcarrier’s Blue Tern vessel after what the project team said was “a challenging timescale of a single season in the face of unprecedented global conditions”.

Moray East will now be fully commissioned by the end of the year by developer Ocean Winds, the offshore joint venture of EDPR and Engie.
