Almost all the onshore wind competing for UK renewable energy deals after being readmitted to government auctions would be located in Scotland, according to new industry analysis.

More than 3.8GW of the 4.2GW of onshore wind likely to compete in the next contract-for-difference (CfD) round will be Scottish projects, said Cornwall Insight.

Onshore wind is set to be readmitted to the CfD process after the UK government earlier this year said it would review its controversial four-year exclusion of the renewable source along with large-scale PV.
