Norwegian developer Havgul and its partners in Scandia Wind Southwest have signed leases with about 500 landowners thus far in the Texas Panhandle to develop a massive wind farm called Mariah that could reach an eventual 10GW.
Plans call for completion of the first 200MW in 2013, with 500MW each in the following two years. This will partly hinge on Texas regulators approving Scandia’s request for 1.2GW
