South Korea’s industrial giants continued to pile into floating wind as Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) linked with DNV GL to develop platforms for the fast-growing sector.
SHI and the global technology and classification group will jointly design “large capacity” floating offshore wind technology as well as remote maintenance systems for the sector, said a statement.
The platform will have a “design similar to that of semi-submersible crude oil production facilities”, added SHI.
