German developer RWE and Louisianan local economic development agency Greater New Orleans (GNO) are tying up on a programme to accelerate engagement of the regional industrial supply chain with the burgeoning US offshore wind sector, further fuelling the state's energy transition in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM).

To lead off, GNO will host a series of workshops and company-specific interviews over the next six months, with the aim of identifying existing Louisiana-based companies with transferable capabilities for offshore wind, and so provide developers, including RWE, with contractors to help them build local supply chains to reach their deployment goals.
