Orsted and regional utility Eversource – the team behind the 704MW Revolution Wind project off the coast of Rhode Island – are investing $4.5m to promote the industry’s development in the state.
The University of Rhode Island, a national leader in ocean engineering, environmental science and other marine-related fields, will receive $3m for offshore wind education programmes. URI will be working in partnership with other institutions of higher learning in the state.
