Floating wind pioneer BlueFloat Enery and developer Energy Estate have extended the size of their planned Greater Gippsland offshore wind project in Australia from 1.3GW to 2.1GW, but said the project would be bottom-fixed.

The project is located in the Bass Strait off the coast of Gippsland in the state of Victoria, which Australia’s federal government last month declared as the first area to be assessed for suitability for wind projects at sea.
